thank you note to a friend who gave me onion and garlic-flavored chewing gum

Dearest of Friends,
I would like to graciously thank you for the gift you bestowed upon me; that of the chewing gum. As it was not really my personal flavor of choice, I fed it to my loyal dragon companion. He seemed to rather enjoy the flavor, though it seemed to have a kick. Pretty soon he was spewing fire. After about five minutes he could not breathe any fire whatsoever! Of which at that point I decided to take my dragon to the sagacious wizard who lived far to the east in the mountains and knew many secrets of old. We flew swiftly across the borders of many countries until we reached the Swiss Alps. As we glided down to land, my dragon and I noticed a score of goblins invading the caves in which the wizard lived. Thereupon we knew we had a battle cut out for us. I drew my trusty sword as I slid down from the back of my dragon, barely giving him time to land. I strode across the battle field, slaying goblin after goblin, the green slime of their blood flowing all around as my bright sword was violated with the goblin blood. My dragon slew a number of them with his sharp talons before he was through. When we had finished with the goblins, out of the corner of my eye I saw some substantial mass coming up behind me. I turned and saw a gryphon bearing down on myself and my dragon! Much to my astonishment, it was the wizard's new friend. He thanked me for saving the wizard's life and said he was there to take me to see the wizard. When I finally found the wizard and explained the dragon's predicament, he exclaimed, "I have just the thing!" With that he left us in the dusty old study of his house. When he returned, he had a suspiciously nasty smelling, orangish-purplish, soupy substance. He made my poor dragon drink the whole twenty-five gallon pot, and, much to everyone's surprise, exclaimed at its wonderful flavor. With that we had to make haste back to our peaceful abode so that I could return to government mandated school. Luckily everything is back to normal, as my dragon's flame is better than ever. So you see, your gum gave my dragon and I quite an interesting venture, and I could not be more pleased with it!
Regards,
Your Friend
