The Day That Changed My Life Forever

When I was in sixth grade, my mom got me tickets to see the national tour of Wicked for my birthday. I knew I liked musicals and I already knew a couple of songs from the show, but memorizing the music and seeing it live on a professional stage are two drastically different things. The cast only had about 20 people in it, but the sound they could create and the emotion they could evoke were absolutely breathtaking. At the end of the show I sat in my chair, tears running down my face, and it was in that moment that I really fell in love with musical theatre and the performing arts. I eventually decided that I would at least take a stab at a career as a stage actor. I can't think of anything better to do with my life than what I absolutely love. I love it because the entire process is so personal and so special. Every performance is unique in it's own way and there's something about being in the same room as the audience that makes it so fulfilling. Because of Wicked, my life will never be the same. Now I have something I can lovingly dedicate myself to. And that makes me a very happy person.
